Only 3 weeks in…

Well already into the 3rd week of the Northern Lights Training Program and the scope of topics covered is so vast. From learning about social networks to TV production, this course covers topics at the forefront in the industry such as mobile marketing and how to utilize video online.
I am specialising in the digital interactive aspect of the course which involves spending two days of the week at McCann Erickson which is based in Prestbury. Having talks from industry professionals and practical sessions to implement your knowledge has proved to be the perfect mix to understand the different topics. The course provides you with a perfect platform to launch into a career within the every changing media industry.
I would strongly advise any young person with a passion for marketing and media to consider applying for the scheme
Digging in the right field

The course is a cocktail of lectures, group activities and hands on exercises that builds up to a working on a multi platform brief within a team and pitching your project before a panel.
Dragons Den meets the Apprentice, you don’t just learn the theory but are pushed into the deep end forcing you to swim with the idea’s taught but also deep down you discover your own.
It’s real world style teaching, and great fun as you get to access parts of your brain you forgot where there untapped. Bridge the gap

I have now been at the Northern Lights training course for almost three weeks specialising in the media discipline of Digital Interactive. However I have also experienced the disciplines of television and radio production and I am looking forward to gaming, which is a platform that I have a lot to learn about. I feel that this course has been able to bridge the gap between further education and starting my ideal career.
