What is Northern Lights?
Northern Lights is a 4 week long intensive, highly practical multi-platform training and development programme, run in conjunction with four leading industry partners across the specialist fields of television, radio, gaming and digital interactive. We can announce the first three partners – BBC, Fudge and Chillingo. Check out what they do by using the links on the right of the screen.
A recipe for success.
We take 16 passionate and creative people: four in each of the specialist areas. We introduce them to new craft skills in their chosen specialist subject with our industry partners, and then we mix them up to work on live briefs in multiplatform teams, and that’s when the creative sparks really start to fly! Happily we also supply a generous helping of people skills as well as career-enhancing treats such as CV makeovers and interview techniques.
Ingredients.
* 8 seminar/workshop days led by industry experts
* 8 up-skilling days in specialist areas
* 4 days of working in a multi-platform team
* Individual personal development plans
* Individual coaching and mentoring
* 4 industry partners
A small daily travel and subsistence allowance will be payable for the period your are on the programe.
Who can apply?
You can apply if:
- You are a new entrant to the creative industries
- You have an interest/experience in one of the 4 specialist areas (tv, radio, gaming, digital interactive)
- You are no longer in full-time education
- You are passionate about working in the creative industries in the North West
